Itinerary

Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Tour – Colors of the Andes at High Altitude
  • Your adventure begins very early in the morning with hotel pick-up in Cusco (around 4:00–5:00 a.m.). You will travel by tourist transport for approximately 2 hours to the town of Cusipata, where you will enjoy a hearty breakfast to prepare for the hike.
  • After breakfast, you will continue by vehicle to the trailhead, where the hike begins. The trek to Rainbow Mountain takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace and physical condition. Along the way, you will pass through stunning high-altitude landscapes, with views of glaciers, valleys, and local communities raising llamas and alpacas.
  • Upon reaching the summit (over 5,000 meters / 16,400 ft), you will be rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the colorful mountain. Your guide will explain the geological formation and significance of this natural wonder, giving you time to take photos and fully enjoy the scenery.
  • Optionally, you may visit the Red Valley, an equally impressive landscape with deep red tones and fewer crowds (additional entrance may apply).
